On Saturday 1 October 2022 legislation approved by the Scottish Parliament will start. This law applies throughout Scotland and Councils must ensure the law is implemented. The Law applies to accommodation used as a 'Short-Term Lets' ('STLs'). This covers houses, flats or rented rooms.
You can continue using this accommodation as a STL after 1st October 2022, but you must apply to the Council for a licence by 31st March 2023. If you apply by then, you can continue offering this accommodation as a STL - until the Council have decided to grant or refuse the licence.
