Order a food waste caddy

All mainland and Cumbrae households should have a brown food caddy to use for recycling food waste.

Put a compostable or biodegradable liner in your caddy. Liners can be bought at most supermarkets and other retailers. You may prefer to use newspaper to wrap food waste.

Please note: Do not use ordinary plastic bags or liners - these are not compostable or biodegradable. Contaminated bins will not be emptied.

When a food caddy liner is almost full, tie it up and put it in your brown bin.

Vegetable and fruit peelings may be placed straight in the brown bin.
