Household Waste Recycling Centres
Please note: The new Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) booking system is available to reserve booking slots. You will be required to have booked a slot in advance to access any of the four recycling centres from Tuesday 29 April 2025.
The Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRC) are for North Ayrshire residents to:
- dispose of small quantities of household waste
- access reuse and recycling services
Where possible please take waste to your nearest Household Waste Recycling Centre. There is no cost to use this service.
It is illegal to deposit commercial waste at the centres. Separate arrangements are in place for depositing commercial waste for a charge at Arran Waste Transfer Station. The Council provides a wide range of Commercial Waste Services across the mainland and Islands.

You must bring proof of North Ayrshire residency to enter the site. This can be one of the following:
- Council Tax bill
- driving licence
- utility bill
Identification documents should be displayed and clearly visible on the car's dashboard vehicle's dashboard as staff may check that you are a North Ayrshire resident.
Our booking system aims to:
- reduce traffic and queueing at site entrances
- improve site safety for visitors and staff
- reduce site misuse by non North Ayrshire residents and commercial and trade operators
From Tuesday 29 April all visits must be booked in advance of arrival at our recycling centres.
