Report litter

To report litter, tell us where it is and what it is.

Report litter form

Our teams remove litter, illegally dumped waste and antisocial debris from public areas.

We don’t remove waste from private land or gardens.

Fixed penalties

Working alongside Enforcement Officers, we carry out regular patrols. Officers can issue fixed penalty fines.

Should you wish to deposit general litter in a public bin and find it full, please carry to the next bin or take it home. Placing litter at the side of a full bin is also an offence.

The fixed penalty for litter is £80 and can be paid online.

Pay a fixed penalty form

Failure to remove waste after a fixed penalty has been issued may result in an extra charge for removal and disposal costs.

Failure to pay a fixed penalty can result in action by Sheriff Officers or the Procurator Fiscal. If you are prosecuted, you may face a jail term and up to a £40,000 fine. Vehicles used to carry out the crime can be seized and destroyed.
