Sheltered housing units are available throughout North Ayrshire.
Our Sheltered Housing Handbook document provides information on your tenancy and the services we provide for you.
Powered Mobility Equipment Policy
We have recently undertaken a programme of work to review fire safety arrangements within our sheltered housing complexes. One important aspect of this work relates to the safe storage of powered mobility equipment.
Officers across the Council with advice from Scottish Fire & Rescue, have worked together to prepare a new Power Mobility Equipment Policy for Sheltered accommodation to ensure compliance with our statutory duties.
Housing staff have been contacting tenants within these complexes to explain the changes and provide clarification, support, and assistance where required.
Apply for an amenity or sheltered house
Apply to the North Ayrshire Housing Register by filling in an application for housing. Select 'sheltered' or 'amenity' housing when asked on the form. If you have health issues that impact on the type of housing, you must also complete an accessible housing application.
