Ancient monuments and gardens
We protect ancient monuments. They are important artefacts of our heritage and may hold cultural value within a community.
Designed gardens and landscapes are important because:
- of their unique artistic value
- they contain rare or valuable plant collections
- they are invaluable to wildlife
Development near a scheduled ancient monument or designed landscape, may be subject to planning constraints and will be assessed for their impact on their surroundings.
